I am a retired professor of Minnesota State University, U.S. and am doing research on our family name: origin and meaning. In order to explain the meaning of the name, I have visited over sixty sites in Western and Eastern Europe, and the U. S. for the past thirty years. Sites visited are those that carry a syllable which is a root of our family name such as Buch/Buche/Buchen/Büchen. Surprisingly, I came upon your Internetseite and was amazed at what I read, especially the history and Mission Statement, which explain a history and a healthy, vibrant community. I commend the mayor and citizens in developing an informative website and writing a mission statement that reflects life in Boksee. ~ ~ ~ My book will include one page of each of the sixty-plus sites I have visited. I wish to include Boksee (Buchen-Lake), and I request the right to reproduce the photo of the Gut on the Boksee website, limited details of its history, as well as the entire mission statement, which will be translated into English. The book will be published only for family members and select libraries in Germany and a library in Washington D.C. Therefore, I request permission to include: (1) photo of Boksee, (2) details of its history (3) mission statement.
